Chapter 3!by Tod on 3 Jun 2010, 6:59pmHere’s the cover for Chapter Three! Here’s today’s artslam - http://community.livejournal.com/artslam/536112.html Icon Day will stay open for requests until some time tomorrow. Check it out! Right now, tips are about halfway to everyone who tipped getting two icons - http://djinni.livejournal.com/234614.html I went to a meeting at Jeckyl & Hyde today, and it looks like as soon as a wall’s painted, I get to get started on the next part of the mural! Hurray! We have awesome plans for that. leave a commentart: artslam comic ekwara icon day jaunx raven sparrow west |
Tip Pictures!by Tod on 3 Jun 2010, 9:51amI’ve finished the tip pictures! Hurray! Some logistics - First of all, I had the art card prizes ready to mail out, and found them all ready to go, sitting with my shipping stuff, so I’m sorry those didn’t actually get into the mail, yet. I thought I’d dropped them off, and am doing that now. My next project is getting the tip pictures in the mail, too. If you have not yet sent me an email with your address, and tipped more than ten dollars last Icon Day, send me an email with how much you tipped and your address, with the subject line ICON DAY NINE. The picture you get will be randomly determined based on what category you’re in! Here’s the art, behind the cut! Enjoy! I will be posting Icon Day 10 and some new commission info, shortly. If you read this on my blog, Icon Day only goes on my livejournal, which is http://www.livejournal.com/~djinni leave a commentart: alien andrewsarchus cat desert dragon ekwara jaunx monster ocelot opossum sandcat shark snow tiger vedrig |
Friday Art, Saturday Comicsby Tod on 22 May 2010, 12:51pmFirst, comics! I didn’t get a post up yesterday, because I was off hanging out with friends last night. I decided to take the rest of the day off, but if I get any new art done today, I’ll upload it tonight. leave a commentart news: comic commission crimson flag dracula drau ekwara endrich jaunx magic |
Responsibility Dayby Tod on 20 May 2010, 8:36pmToday, I did something I’ve needed to do, but didn’t really want to do. I don’t want to talk about the specifics, but it’s taken care of, now, and that’s all well and good. Since then, I’ve been having a tough go of things, today, anxiety-wise. My brain’s told my body to go into fight (pretty dang irritable) or flight (augh panic!) mode, and now that my brain doesn’t have much to fret over, my body still hasn’t gotten the memo to knock that off. I continued with responsible mode, though, and pushed through my work for today, once I got home, despite that. I tried to remember these physical symptoms of anxiety are just that, and that even though I feel pretty crummy, I don’t have to let that prevent me from doing things. Here’s how far I got on the Ekwara commission, today: I inked and colored the peacock sketch from yesterday, and also set it up in my Zazzle shop. Clicking on the image takes you to that. I also did some organizational/planning work I needed to sort out, got another Ekwara page loaded up into the queue, and did this week’s Crimson Flag pencils. Plus, did the previously mentioned errand, walked four miles, and had an avocado for dinner. That… is not really a responsible dinner, but that’s okay. If you’re an artist type, check out Artslam - http://community.livejournal.com/artslam/478165.html - they’re open for new signups for the summer. It’s an awesome art challenge where you pick a theme and try to complete 30, 60 or 90 concept sketches. I’ll be using Ekwara as my theme again this year, and mirroring my worldbuilding stuff on this journal (and maybe the Ekwara site? I’d have to figure that one out.) leave a commentUncategorized: comic commission drau ekwara jaunx peacock |
by Tod on 19 May 2010, 6:57pmI did a new thing with my schedule, today, that got me to be very productive! Basically, my tendency is to do as much as I can on one project in a day, then move on to others. Instead, I’ve split up my schedule to have a set amount of time for working on various types of projects. I got to do a ton of different things, today, with no pressure to finish, only to keep working until the time for that was up. If I can keep myself on this type of schedule, I think I can become a lot more productive. We shall see! Scanned this guy and got him on to some Zazzle products (clicking on the image takes you to that section of my store). The bag with him on it got featured on the site, today! Yay! I also set up some things with the friendly blue monster. leave a commentart news: alien art basilisk bobcat comic commission drau ekwara endrich jaunx peacock wolf zazzle |
Ekwara Day Art!by Tod on 6 Dec 2009, 5:05pmHere’s all the Ekwara Day art from your prompts and questions. A couple of these I’ve already posted, with a little more explanation of how it fits into the setting. When I took the prompts, I said I needed to handle shipping logistics and payment once these were done. If you would like your picture mailed to you, please send me an email with the filename of your picture and your mailing address. I also need two dollars to cover mailing and supplies, if you’re in the US, and if you’re outside the US, let me know, so we can work out the exact shipping cost. My email address is coyotepuck@gmail.com Onward to the art! leave a commentart: djinni drau ekwara grevican illustration jaunx laeki magpie pandril vedrig wyvern |
Woosh!by Tod on 3 Dec 2009, 12:32amOkay, I spent the day working on icons and will keep on plugging through those until they’re done. I’ll upload those when they’re done, and the Ekwara pictures, and then I’m doing a mail run to drop badges and some other art in the mail - including Ekwara pictures for people who want them shipped (there will be a post about this when go up). I bought an analog alarm clock, which is awesome. I’ve always wanted one of these! Now I can wake up on time, again. I went for a nice walk, today. I noticed there are a lot of dandelions in bloom. I must have walked past them a bunch of times since I’ve been here, but they only stood out to me, today, because I was so surprised to see flowers in December. Hats told me, the climate is mild, but that’s still a fun surprise. leave a commentart: cat illustration jaunx magic |
This pain in my neck is a real pain in the neckby Tod on 1 Dec 2009, 2:13pmI’m pretty sore, today. At risk of great boredom, I’m going to take today to chill out and let my neck stop hurting. I’ll get back to work tomorrow, or today if I feel up to it. I know a couple minutes ago I posted this intending to work, today, but when my neck/shoulder goes wonky like this, it can stay this way for days, and I can’t afford that right now. Maybe today I’ll write. So, as soon as I can, finishing up Icon and Ekwara Day, and some sketches owed. I also need to get stuff in the mail when that’s done. Then, onward! Short post, today, but here’s a thing: leave a commentart: ekwara illustration jaunx vedrig |
