Back to Blogging!

by Tod on 22 Jun 2010, 8:17pm

After a bit of an absence, I feel up to getting back in the social networking saddle, so here’s a lot of stuff I’ve made.  I will be getting caught up on a few other things this week, hopefully.  I may be a little slow to get to emails and such, as I do that.  It’s been a little tough lately, but I’m doing okay.  I’m about to become a year older!  29!  OH NO!

Actually, I don’t mind the idea.  I’ll carry on with pretending to be an actual adult.  Business as usual.

Ekwara is still updating… I just haven’t posted the pages here.  I used up my buffer, so tomorrow’s page will go up tomorrow, and one of the things I want to catch up on is getting the week’s pages squared away, again.  That shouldn’t be a problem.  Also, I have a lot of time to devote to Icon Day 10.

Tip Pictures!

by Tod on 3 Jun 2010, 9:51am

I’ve finished the tip pictures! Hurray!

Some logistics - First of all, I had the art card prizes ready to mail out, and found them all ready to go, sitting with my shipping stuff, so I’m sorry those didn’t actually get into the mail, yet.  I thought I’d dropped them off, and am doing that now.  My next project is getting the tip pictures in the mail, too.  If you have not yet sent me an email with your address, and tipped more than ten dollars last Icon Day, send me an email with how much you tipped and your address, with the subject line ICON DAY NINE.  The picture you get will be randomly determined based on what category you’re in!

Here’s the art, behind the cut!  Enjoy!  I will be posting Icon Day 10 and some new commission info, shortly.  If you read this on my blog, Icon Day only goes on my livejournal, which is http://www.livejournal.com/~djinni

Tomorrow’s Ekwara, a little earlier than usual.

This morning was tough, but I worked through my mood and got stuff done.  For the rest of the evening, I’ll be working more on Ekwara pages, and making banana bread and cilantro chicken.  Since I’m out of butter, I’m going to try a recipe I found that substitutes avocado and a little oil for butter.  I’ll let you guys know how that turns out.  Hopefully well, because I am in the mood for some banana bread!

For today’s art, I did this sketch of an alien and an alien kid:

And behind the cut, painted versions of the wolf family, two aliens, steakosaurus, a unicorn and a worried dragon.  I’ll be putting them into my Zazzle store on Friday.

This is my container garden!  Catnip is on top of the red bucket.  Romaine lettuce is behind it.  Cilantro is beside the lettuce, and the smaller containers are all spinach.  I’m not using the red bucket as a container because it was too thick to get through with my knife.

Alien concept sketch.  Something to fight the little bobble-headed alien guys I’ve been drawing, maybe.

I did a new thing with my schedule, today, that got me to be very productive!  Basically, my tendency is to do as much as I can on one project in a day, then move on to others.  Instead, I’ve split up my schedule to have a set amount of time for working on various types of projects.  I got to do a ton of different things, today, with no pressure to finish, only to keep working until the time for that was up.  If I can keep myself on this type of schedule, I think I can become a lot more productive.  We shall see!

Scanned this guy and got him on to some Zazzle products (clicking on the image takes you to that section of my store).  The bag with him on it got featured on the site, today!  Yay!  I also set up some things with the friendly blue monster.

Mural Progress, Zazzle, Comic News, Life

by Tod on 27 Mar 2010, 9:51am

First of all, today’s comics will be going up at some point tonight - thanks to tips, Dracula will be getting two pages this week, and I need to make sure that happens!  I’m going to work on the mural, though, too.  It will be a busy day.

There are a lot of these icons to pencil.  Apologies for the wait, but this is about as long as I should have expected for it to make me take, especially with the mural eating my brain.  Both are fun.  I worry a little when I have long-term projects, but… well, read on after the cut.  I’ve been thinking about that a lot, this past week.

There is also a ton of art - in-progress photos of the mural, etc.
