A Monsterby Tod on 30 Apr 2010, 1:30pmHere is a friendly blue monster! Things are going well on my end - I need to finish some commissions, and then tackling the icons. I don’t have final, good quality photos of the mural, quite yet. I do have a tiny, tiny garden out on my balcony now, though - cilantro, catnip, spinach and lettuce. We’ll see how well that goes, and then I’ll get some more herbs and stuff. Comics will update tomorrow, because it’s Saturday, probably late morning, early afternoon. leave a commentart: garden monster |
Saturday Comicsby Tod on 24 Apr 2010, 7:52amComics have updated for Saturday! I started putting some Ekwara art up into a new section of my Zazzle store, and want to follow up with some Dracula art soon, too. You can check that out here - click on Sparrow’s goofy face. I also made this coyote cartoon for a shirt for Ian’s baby. I put this on Zazzle stuff, too, because that’s what I do these days. Today, I’m going to get some preliminary stuff done on the upper part of the mural, and then working on commissions and penciling icons. leave a commentart news: comic coyote crimson flag dracula ekwara magpie |

Comics, etcby Tod on 10 Apr 2010, 9:39pmI haven’t had much to show off lately, because I’m focusing on this huge icon batch, and the mural. The mural, or at least, the lower part of it, is finished! I’m going in on Tuesday to clean up the wall and get photos. The icons will go up online when they’re done. Oh my goodness, so many icons! Comics updated today. I was slow posting my update because I’m working on two bonus pages for Ekwara. Tips funded two extra pages for this update, and I want ‘em to look their best. The second page is done except for text and borders and all that good computer-added stuff, and then I need to wrap up the third page. Next week and the week after that will be Sparrow and Ginger’s intro. Remember that sketch I posted a little while back? That’s two pages from now, and halfway through Chapter 2, already! I post the comic links every time I update this. I’ll spare you that, this time. Page 336 of Dracula is up, page 40 (!!) of Ekwara is up, and page 86 of Crimson Flag is up! And since I haven’t mentioned it in a little while, be sure to go check out the FULL NOVEL of Arcadia Snips now online If you like the story and want a copy of your own, the hardcopy books are on sale. I just noticed that! On the personal front, those of you reading this on my livejournal (instead of on my ninjahijinx blog site) have been subjected to my dream-journal voice posts. I haven’t remembered my dreams the past few nights, but as soon as I get a good one, I’ll be right back on that. And, here’s some art: I’m using a lot of exclamation points today! It’s because I’m really tired! leave a commentart news: arcadia snips comic cookie crimson flag dracula ekwara exclaimaton point rat |

Stuff!by Tod on 2 Apr 2010, 9:21amHere’s some art! The mural is maybe a couple hours work from being done, so I think I’m going to hold onto my update until I can get photos of the whole thing completed. I’m going to borrow my roommate’s digital camera on Monday, when I next go in. Illustration I did for a cookout/camping event. Haha… Designs for Chapter 4 of Ekwara. I’ve finished penciling Chapter 2, and am working on Chapter 3, so it’s about time for me to start working on character designs for the next part. This part of the story calls for some villainous birds, and I’m trying to make some unlikely species look less than silly. For a toucan, especially, that’s something of a challenge. Instead of taking the HUGE NOSE route for his human-like form, I’m emphasizing the beak markings, on his face. He’s not especially sinister looking, but hopefully not ridiculous, and his dove sidekick, I think, picks up the “sinister” slack. I need a third character for their little group - a bird who can’t take on another form, yet, and is a new recruit. I was thinking a chickadee, but am open to suggestions. leave a commentart: commission dove ekwara kenaki raccoon sketch toucan whale |
